Thank you, first of all, for visiting this fieldwork and internship guide. It is my sincere hope that this resource will help you find opportunities for practical experience in the wondrous field of anthropology that we all know and love. As you probably know by now, anthropology is essentially a fieldwork-based discipline that cannot be understood solely within the confines of the classroom.  To truly grasp what anthropology is about, it is critically important to go into “the field” in order to experience for yourself what the discipline is like.

I originally released this resource on behalf of the [[http://www.nyu.edu/clubs/ausa/|Anthropology Undergraduate Student Association]] at New York University as part of its mission to assist anthropology students by providing them with relevant activities and opportunities. Since graduating, I have continued to work on improving this guide and strongly believe that it can help you on your way to an experience of a lifetime, whether it be a field school in Tanzania, a human rights internship in Germany, or a position at the American Museum of Natural History in New York.
